How to Lose Weight Fast and Keep it Off

Many people really want to lose weight, and have tried diet after diet which just don't seem to work. If you're someone who has tried some of the fad diets only to be disappointed, you're not alone -- there are many others exeriencing your same frustration.

Everywhere you look, the world is over-saturated with temptation. With a fast food restaurant on every corner, how is one supposed to get the weight off?

Now that technology has become so advanced, we're getting less and less physical activity. Our society is changing so fast, it's hard to keep up with it all, and that can cause stress, and stress often causes us to eat more.  What's one to do?

Losing weight and keeping it off has been one of my challenges, too, and so I started researching what causes us to gain weight and looked for methods to help myself and others lose the weight and keep it off.  What I found is that there are both scientific and emotional reasons why we gain weight as we go through our lives.  And there are also solutions to counteract the problem.  As it turns out, fad diets are definitely not the answer to our weight problems.  The answers are found in changing the way we think about food, lifestyle, and our emotions.  It was so exciting to discover that I could actually take control of my life and reach my weight loss goals.

If you're ready to make some changes to help you get on the road to finally losing the weight and keeping it off, you might find this program helpful in your quest.  The name of the program is "Weight Loss Transformation," a program for those who are ready to lose weight and get fit.

Getting the Right Mindset to Lose the Weight

While dieting we often spend all our time talking about counting calories, what to eat, what not to eat, exercises that are best, and all the ins and outs of losing weight. But we forget to discuss the most important factor when it comes to losing weight: getting the right mindset. This is what gives you the motivation to even get started losing weight in the first place. Our mindset will always be the main ingredient when it comes to reaching our goals, and losing weight is no exception.

What is the right mindset to have to help you lose weight? What you think about is what you become. If you think you can lose weight, then you can. So that's part of the right mindset. You must first want to do it, believe you can achieve it, and then find a way to make it happen.

Just about everyone who has started a diet with great motivation and determination has probably experienced losing that motivation at some point. Dieting can be very frustrating. You can get to the point where you just don't care anymore. Sometimes the only thing you care about in the moment is eating whatever it is you're thinking about eating. When that happens, you've lost the mindset to lose weight. The good thing is, though, that you can falter but then get right back up and get back on track.

Part of the right mindset is also to just keep plugging along, and when you have a setback and eat something you shouldn't, like a cookie (or a whole cake!), the best thing to do is give yourself a break and get right back on the path to your goal.

When you falter don't beat yourself up or call yourself a loser or anything like that. Be your own best friend, and give yourself encouragement to get back on track to becoming a healthier, happier, thinner self.

How Fast Can You Lose Weight Without it Being Unhealthy?

This is a good question when it comes to trying to lose the weight as fast as you can.  Although losing weight is healthy for the body, losing it too quickly can cause some problems.  So it’s best to keep the weight loss at about 2 pounds a week.  This is still 8-10 pounds a month which is a good amount to lose but is still healthy.

Most women can do fine on 1200 calories a day, but anything less than this can make you feel badly.  If you are very overweight, you should start out at 2,000 calories, see if you can lose weight with just that, and lower the number of calories gradually.

While dieting, it is important to make sure you eat healthy food, especially fresh fruits and vegetables.  These can increase your metabolism which will give your weight loss a kick start.

Some foods that can increase your metabolism include broccoli, asparagus, celery, almonds, grapefruit, applies, blueberries, oatmeal, and fish.

Fresh food in general is better than cooked foods to increase metabolism.  It takes more energy to digest raw food than it does to digest cooked food.

Drinking more water can also elevate your metabolism.  Water is a necessary basic ingredient for the body to function, and it helps eliminate wastes from the body.  Drink eight to ten glasses of water a day to increase metabolism and get to your weight loss goal quicker.

In summary, drinking lots of water and eating fresh fruits and vegetables and certain other foods can help elevate metabolism.  Weight loss in the range of one to two pounds per week, or 8-10 pounds per month is a healthy amount to lose.

What is the Healthiest Way to Lose Weight and Keep it Off for Good?

Losing weight -- if you're overweight -- is important for good health but it's also important to lose the weight i a healthy way.  Eating healthy foods and exercising is the very best way to drop the extra weight and keep it off.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are just about the healthiest foods you can eat, and experts say we should eat at least five servings every day.  Most Americans don't eat the recommended five servings, and that's one reason why many of us are overweight.

Exercising daily is one important factor when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off for good.  Just about any type of exercise is good, and you should choose some type of activity that is enjoyable.  That way you'll be more likely to do it daily.  Walking is one of the best ways to exercise because you can do it just about anywhere without any special equipment.  Try walking about 30 minutes every day or almost every day.

If you're looking for healthy ways to lose weight and keep it off for good, try these two suggestions to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and exercise on a daily basis.

There Are Some Days When The Only Thing That Gives Me Pleasure is Food

Yes, it's true.  There really are some days when the only thing that gives me pleasure is food.  I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way.  And most of us have grown up with the good stuff like creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, fried chicken again smothered with gravy, corn with lots of butter, and biscuits or rolls again with lots of butter.  We love to eat our cakes, pies, candy, and we love to drink Coke, Dr. Pepper, Star Bucks, and those great high energy drinks.

And life can seem very boring when the pleasure of eating whatever you want, whenever you want is taken away.  I think most dieters struggle with this.

I have felt frustration and sadness for feeling like a food addict, and I think these feelings are common among people.  The important thing, though, is what you choose to do about those feelings.  Your actions will lead you on whichever path you choose.

Weve already gone down the path of eating for pleasure, safety, comfort. But where has that taken us?  To the wrong side of the scale for many. If food is your only real pleasure on most days, then you must realize that your life is not as full as it can be.  Live can be so much more.
